The Story of Bango
A Chinese Cosmology Story

"A story a story, from a land far to the north. Before the world began, there was an egg. Within the egg was chaos.
One day, the great god Bango began to immerge from the egg the egg of chaos. As Bango immerged from the egg and began to grow,
he filled the space between the heavens and the earth. As he grew, so too did the space between heaven and earth, each day,
pushing them further and further apart.

Time passed and one day it was time for Bango to die. Through the death of the Bango, the world was created.
Bango's body slowly feel and began to create the mountains and valleys of the Earth.
One of his eyes began to open, and from this the sun was born.
As the other eye opened, the birth of the moon was revealed.

Bango's mouth opened and from his gentle lips came a breeze which filled the Earth with winds.
From Bango's heart came Love into the world."

This was the story that became an inspiration and focus for Hayashi and Shank during their time at the whispering seed.
Towards the end of their stay, this story was told using shadow puppets which they made with the children from the local village.
