Childhood is a time of innocence, a time of happiness and most of all a time of joy.
To laugh and cry, to feel the bare Earth beneath our feet,
to splash and play in the rivers and dance in the warm splendour of the morning sun.
A time to teach and learn, to hide and seek and most of all
a time to be completely free to enjoy each moment of our lives.

Childhood is a time magic, of wonder and dreams. Each child of this Earth deserves to
feel these moments of their youth in the safety and security of
loved ones around them. For these are the moments which form and shape the core of our being,
giving us the foundations on which to spring forth and grow into the unique beings we are meant to be.

Unfortunately, many children do not experience these moments of life. For many reason,
children become neglected, abused and abandonded. In this small
corner of the world, The Whispering Seed aims to create a haven for
children of all ages to have the opportunity to experience these precious and necessary moments of childhood.

Each day will bring new joys, as the children discover that the entire world is theirs to learn from. Their learning will come from the natural world that surrounds them, with a never ending source of explorations. Play will be an integral and important part of every day and all activities. Massage, yoga, meditation, storytelling, dance and art will be incorporated into every day of the children's lives. The children will also learn traditional skills such as the weaving and spinning of cotton and the use of dyeing cloth with natural dyes.

The children will play an active part of the growing of rice and vegetables for daily use. They will help working in the organic gardens, maintaining the fruit trees and learning how grow their own food in a simple and natural way. Food will be healthy, natural and vegetarian.

Because of the importance to connect with the local community, the children will make explorations into the local villages to learn about the local culture, language and traditional ways of life. As the children grow older, we they will have the opportunity to apprentice with elders in the village in a variety of traditional skills. When the children are ready, we will asist them with opportunities travel and learn abroad. We are committed to nonviolent ways of communication and diversity by learning about the world around us.

Within the coming year, we will begin taking children coming from orphaned and abusive backgrounds into our care. We will serve children coming from all over Thailand and possibly from other countries as well, including children from Burma (Myanmar). Many of the children will be ethnic minorities from Burma and coming from Mon and Karen Hilltribe groups in Thailand, due to our proximity to the Burmese border.

We are committed to natural, holistic models of child-rearing and alternative, democratic models of education that support life-long learning. . With a healing environment, healthy food and natural living, the children will have the opportunity to grow and flourish, to nourish their souls and allow their own learning rhythms to unfold building the foundations to become life long learners. .
