4 Week Permaculture
Certification Course

The first part of this training was a 4 week Permaculture Design Course (PDC). This course was the first PDC held in Thailand.

 
 
Throughout the course, we spent time working together in a large group as well as breaking up into smaller working groups to focus on specific tasks and to discuss certain topics.

One of the first skills we learned was to closely observe the environment around us. THroughout the 6 weeks, we sharpened our observation skills and spent time alone going over material covered in previous lessons.
Many days of observation, contemplation and discussion took place before any restoration work was started on the river bank which is constantly being destroyed by erosion from the flooding of the local river.

We spent time visiting a local farming growing organic oranges and beginning to experiment using IMO (Indigenous Micro-Organisms). We also went to visit another local farm to learn about the different plants they were growing and how they designed their farm.
